Mahjong For Mac

Half the program of Mahjong Lite for Ipod/Iphone.. VERY elementary. Can;t change views. Cant resize play area for larger screen macs. Good graphics.

This is a nice app, well made. I like the fact that I saves the game after leaving, and the wide variety of game layouts, which will run through as you win each level. Good way to pass the time.

This game was clearly developed on some other platform and ported to OS X. Even though theres a menu in the OS X menubar, everything is accessed through the single, fixed-size application window. The graphics are rather crude, and most of the backgrounds are low-res. The game itself is okay. Its a good way to pass the time, but its not terribly challenging (you can successfully complete the game every time). Ive played better mahjong solitaire games, but for what it is its worth $2.

I have about 10 mahjong games and for sheer pleasure and stress relief this one is the best. Its just what you need to fill in when you need a break without frustrating you to death. While it is not the most challenging of these games, it is excellent for relaxing play. Five stars for being just plain fun!

Good game for people who want to play Mahjong without the stress of a timer or scoring. I like that you can enable or disable "shadow," which shows you which tiles are playable and which arent. I have two beefs, though (costing a star each). One: you cant use command-z to undo a move, instead have to click on a button in the corner of the screen (a minor annoyance). Two: the graphics/aesthetics arent exactly elegant—and the icon for the app is downright ugly.

have tried support but there isnt any. My screen freezes often and need lots of jiggleing before it works again. Addictive but no way to beat yourself as no scoring.

This is a great app! The layouts are great too. Is it possible to add another layout called The Square like the one from the Random Mahjong app or the one from Windows for Best of Entertainment (or Windows 7 that is since its one of the default games now)? Thanks

Mahjong 1.3

great game, could be a little more challenging as you play through the levels

Iam_bubbles v1.3 · 14 years ago

The best thing is that you can easily tell which tiles are free. Some games are too easy to win, others easy to lose. When you get the chance to reshuffle, you always win, in my experience.

A nice, quiet, no pressure time-waster. Takes me back to playing a similar game on a Mac 512, in black and white with that little screen and run off a floppy.

Mahjong

This game is addictive. I want to play it all the time. The layouts are interesting. Very fun and enjoyable.

Addictive!

True, it is a definite waste of time but more and more challenging as you progress throught the stages.

A great game to sharpen the mind. I especially love the fact that the game will let you reshuffle the remaining tiles to complete the set. You can really concentrate on getting the puzzle solved without having to restart from the beginning as with so many other games -- great stress reducer!

Mahjong

It’s a great game for keeping the old grey matter flexible and helps you concentrate much better.

I’ve really been enjoying this game, and love that there are so many layouts! I’ve run into a problem on the last set of layouts though… I’ve got through 23-1 and 2, and have successfully completed all of the other games on that page as well, but the check marks to show completion only show up on those first two games! I’ve worked my way through all of the levels and was trying to get all the check marks, but some glitch is not making those ones stay checked. I haven’t received any updates for the game and am scared to delete and reinstall because then I think it will reset back to the original. Is there some way to update so that this can be fixed?

I find this game to have most of the features that I was looking for including undo, shuffle, and the ability to turn off the sound. I have a couple suggestions for improvements, though. I would like to be able us use the "undo" after I have run out of matches. Instead, I must shuffle or restart a completely new game. If this has to be the case, I would like to start the same game again. It would also be nice to see the name of the formation of my current game on the screen while Im working on it. Petty maybe, but its something I enjoyed in the game I used to play. Yahoo Games took away their Mahjong Solitaire and I miss it a lot, but so far, Ive spent several hours in this game without a break. Just the thing!
